Hollis Office Solutions has gone green after acquiring a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, an ultra-low emission SUV. The new vehicle replaces an aging diesel saloon car and will enhance the company’s ability to support customers throughout Shropshire, North Wales and the West Midlands.
“Environmental issues were just as important as company car tax when we were making a decision to acquire a PHEV,” said Garry Thompson, Managing Director of Hollis Office Solutions. “With low emissions four-wheel drive and tax savings, the vehicle makes perfect business sense and will enable us to deliver the highest level of service throughout the year, regardless of the weather.”
The Outlander PHEV is the world’s first plug-in hybrid SUV and uses both electric and petrol power. It has an electric range of 32½ miles along and emits just 44g/km of CO2 with a combined fuel consumption figure of 148mpg. This means that not only is no vehicle tax is payable, but it is also eligible for the Government’s £5,000 Plug-in Car Grant and saves company car drivers thousands in Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax.
“Since taking delivery, we have been more than a little surprised at the high level of interest shown by other motorists asking about the technology,” continued Thompson. “To date the PHEV has been a totally seamless experience and the car is so simple to use that we are already considering acquiring more when our existing fleet comes up for renewal.”
